Our mission

The problem isn't
the algorithm.
It's the data.

Every analytical platform in the national security space promises insight. Most deliver search. The difference is data — not the kind you can license from a commercial aggregator, but the kind that requires deliberate collection, expert judgment, and relentless verification.

Tiercel was built to close that gap. We combine the tradecraft of experienced open-source intelligence analysts with the engineering discipline of a data infrastructure company — and we make the result accessible to the people who need it most.

Our products are not wrappers around public data. They are built from data that does not exist elsewhere, structured to answer the questions that matter, and made accessible through interfaces that fit the way analysts actually work.

"The insight isn't the algorithm, it's the data behind it. And most platforms are working with the same data."

Tiercel founding principle
How we work

Principles that shape
every dataset we ship.

01
Data first, always

We don't build models on top of weak data and hope the algorithm compensates. Every product begins with a data acquisition strategy, not a model architecture.

02
Provenance as a feature

Analysts in consequential environments need to know where data came from. We build traceability into every record we produce — source, timestamp, confidence.

03
Human judgment at the core

Automation scales our collection. Expert analysts define what to collect, validate what we find, and catch what machines miss. The two are not in competition.

04
Built for integration

We design for the pipelines and systems our customers already operate — not for a world where they abandon their existing infrastructure to adopt ours.

05
Compliance is not overhead

U.S. data handling standards, security architecture, and chain-of-custody discipline aren't checkboxes — they're what make our data usable in environments where it counts.

06
No theater

We don't oversell what we have. We build the best dataset we can, stand behind its quality, and tell customers exactly what they're working with.

What makes our
data different.

The national security data market is crowded with platforms surfacing the same licensed commercial feeds under different interfaces. Tiercel's differentiation is not our UI — it's our collection.

We hire OSINT analysts who know not just how to find hard-to-find information, but how to structure it, verify it, and make it machine-readable. The data in our products doesn't exist in any commercial feed. That's the point.

Proprietary data, not licensed feeds

Our datasets are built through deliberate collection — not aggregated from the same public sources every competitor uses.

Expert OSINT collection teams

We employ experienced open-source analysts — not scrapers. Human judgment defines every collection program we run.

U.S.-based, fully compliant

All infrastructure, operations, and personnel are U.S.-based and governed by federal data handling standards.

Full provenance on every record

Source lineage, timestamping, and confidence scoring ship with every dataset — because analysts need to know what they're standing on.
